Jesus Christ confronted demons on several occassions. The demons found that they were no match for the power of God. Jesus did not struggle with them, he simply told them to shut up and get out!
God is merciful. There will be a day however that the mercy of God will be unavailable to those who rejected him. It the the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord. Pastor Martin tells us there will be no more mercy. Instead, there will be a meltdown.
